Summary:

As a CNC Programmer/Machinist Level II, you are responsible for setting up, programming, and operating all CNC and manual machinery to support production and engineering. You play a key role in shop upkeep, equipment maintenance, and process improvements. Working in NAI’s meticulously maintained machine shop with state-of-the-art equipment, your advanced machining expertise helps ensure the efficient production of high-reliability components used in our custom electronic assemblies for aerospace, defense, and industrial systems.

Requirements:
  • Set up and operate CNC machinery to fabricate various parts
  • Applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials and setup techniques
  • Manage raw material and finished parts inventory in coordination with the Stockroom and Purchasing teams.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment and common troubleshooting when a malfunction occurs
  • Track and maintain raw material, fixture, and tooling log
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of fixturing equipment for both engineering and production purposes
  • Responsible for sourcing and maintaining tooling/equipment needed
  • Interface with Engineering, Production, and Quality to control and meet tolerances needed.
  • Implementation of 6S practice and techniques in machine shop

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related CNC machining or programming experience.
  • Experience utilizing manual knee mill, CNC vertical/horizontal mills, and other common machine shop equipment
  • Ability to program 3-axis minimum (4/5-axis optional) CNC toolpaths from step files and 3D models using CAM software
  • Ability to design create and build workholding fixtures/assemblies for use in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong CAM programming experience/knowledge. Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Fusion.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability and End-use Assembly
  • Strong experience/knowledge in complex setups for reworking parts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of materials, material strengths, and material uses
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills (English)
