Experienced host/hostess

Seahorse NYC: We are currently seeking a hostess for each of our three venues ( Seahorse, Living Room, and Rooftop) and encourage applicants to apply for the specific role that fits their experience and interest best.

Seahorse NYC, located at 201 Park Avenue South, is a premier dining destination within the boutique Mercer Street Hospitality (MSH) group. We operate as one of three distinct venues at the W Hotel: our signature restaurant, a cocktail lounge, and a rooftop venue that serves over 100 covers during peak service. We are committed to excellence in service and providing a genuine growth path for hospitality professionals.

The Role

We are seeking professional and energetic Full-Time Hosts to join our team. This role is central to the guest experience, serving as the first point of contact for our guests. You will manage the flow of one of the venues, coordinate with management, and ensure every guest receives a warm welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests with professionalism and composure.
• Manage reservations and walk-ins efficiently using platforms like Resy, OpenTable, and SevenRooms.
• Collaborate with the service team to optimize floor coverage during high-volume shifts.
• Maintain an organized host stand, manage coat check, and assist with menu updates.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $21 – $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
• Note: This is a non-tipped position.
• Schedule: Full-time availability with a flexible schedule, including mornings, lunch, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

• Previous hospitality or client service experience, ideally in an upscale or high-volume environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Reliability and a guest-focused mindset.
