Shukette is a high-energy, perennially busy restaurant nestled in West Chelsea, is hiring for a part time LINE COOK with hot line experience. This position is evenings only.
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef and Partner Ayesha Nurdjaja, whose vibrant EasternMediterranean cuisine and warm, gracious approach to hospitality have earned her the 2025
IACP Trailblazer Award and multiple James Beard Award nominations, including being named a
finalist for “Best Chef: New York State” in 2022 and again this year, 2026. Here, we’re building something joyful, flavorful, and deeply rooted in connection — a place where the energy is real, the food is bold, and the experience is meant to feel like a warm welcome. Our menus are rooted in responsibly and locally sourced ingredients, with a strong focus on seasonality. Chef Ayesha brings a dynamic take on her favorite dishes, inspired by her extensive travels and culinary perspective. The hospitality team works hand in hand with the The Bowery Group restaurants are committed to supporting small, local farms and producers whenever possible and to highlighting seasonal produce on our menus. We take seriously this commitment to bring our guests honest cuisine, respectfully produced, and gathered close to home at peak freshness. Main Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate mastery of classic cooking techniques with grill and sauté experience.
- Have at least one year of professional kitchen experience.
- Have experience working in a high-volume restaurant.
- Work with a sense of urgency.
- Be a team player.
- Have an understanding of NY Department of Health protocols for food safety.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Stay positive and calm under the pressure of an open kitchen environment.
