Duties Description As a grounds keeper, you will be responsible for performing routine manual tasks in maintaining the appearance and condition of the grounds, walkways and garage of the hospital. Tasks may require medium to heavy physical effort. Specific tasks involve raking, sweeping, shoveling and removing by hand debris, leaves, branches; removal of snow and ice, etc. You must be able to operate a Toro riding mower, snow blower, skid steer, snow plow equipped truck with a salter, push mowers, weed whackers, backpack blowers, front end loaders, chainsaws etc.

Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class*. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
