Mountain & Meadow Garden Design is a growing fine gardening and design studio based in Greene County, NY. Our team uses an ecological lens as we design, install, and maintain vibrant flower and vegetable gardens, meadows, and woodland landscapes. Our approach prioritizes both artistry and environmental stewardship. We specialize in native plants.

Position Overview

We are seeking candidates who wish to grow a career within the horticultural industry. As part of our crew, you will have the opportunity to continue learning and honing your skills while working in beautiful gardens throughout the Hudson Valley.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain gardens at private residencies
• Perform regular garden care including planting, dividing, weeding, mulching, pruning, deadheading, and watering
• Monitor plant health and identify potential pest or disease issues
• Work both collaboratively with team members, and also independently at times
• Arrive on time each day, prepared with tools, water and lunch
• Adapt to changing schedules due to weather and seasonal demands

Qualifications

• Experienced gardeners preferred, but motivated entry-level candidates willing to learn are encouraged to apply. On the job training is provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform strenuous physical work in all weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites (within approximately 30 miles of Catskill, NY)
• Dependable, punctual, and hard-working
• Positive attitude and energetic disposition
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Comfortable taking instruction and asking questions when needed
• Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism and quality on high-end properties
• Passion for plants, the environment, and sustainable gardening practice

Compensation & Schedule

• $22–$32/per hour, commensurate with experience
• Full-time and part-time positions available
• Work days 9am-5pm
