Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Analyze and gather requirements for software systems.- Design, develop, and modify relational and multidimensional database structures and data flows.- Design, develop, and modify database procedures/packages to perform data extraction, transformation, and loading into Data Warehouse.- Identify and implement improvements to SQL queries for increased performance.- Design, develop, and modify data visualization dashboards.- Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts and jobs (CI/CD).- Develop and maintain documentation for existing and new systems.- Investigate and resolve service tickets by analyzing data and process to identify root cause of the issue.- Work schedule includes production support after hours and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:- Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title; OR- One year of permanent, competitive class service as an Information Technology Specialist 2; OR - One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; OR- NYSIF employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1; OR- Bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR- Bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND one year of experience in information technology; OR- 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of experience in information technology; OR- Two years of experience in information technology.Note: Certain math and business courses, although taken as part of a computer science curriculum, are not counted towards the 15 semester credit hours. Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced knowledge and experience in relational databases, PL/SQL, SQL.- Experience in database design and modeling.- Experience with ETL tools such as IBI Data Migrator, Informatica PowerCenter- Experience with Data visualization tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI.- Development experience in Python - Development experience in R.Please be advised that the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) does not offer sponsorship for employment visas to employees or potential employees.
