Department: Radiology / Nuclear Medicine
Shift: Day or Evening Shift (8 Hours)
Schedule: 5x8 Hours (Monday–Friday, No Weekends)
Typical Hours:
- Day: 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
- Evening: 03:30 PM – 11:00 PM
(Start times may vary between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM or 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM based on unit needs)
Type: Full-Time Contract / Travel
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Rochester, NY
Pay: $48/hour (W2) + $1480 Weekly Stipend
Weekly Gross: $3400

Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials to assist in the evaluation and treatment of various medical conditions. Working in a dynamic clinical environment, the technologist collaborates closely with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver accurate imaging and ensure optimal patient care.
This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Operate and maintain nuclear imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality
- Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures
- Ensure accurate image acquisition, processing, and documentation
- Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety and infection control standards
- Utilize EPIC for charting and documentation (required)
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiology teams, and healthcare staff for optimal patient outcomes
- Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals
- Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation
- Assist with workflow coordination across multiple sites as needed
- Provide cross-coverage between Rochester General Hospital and Geneseo site
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and compliance activities
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program (Required)
- ARRT (R)(N) or NMTCB certification (Required)
- BLS certification (Required)
- Minimum 1–2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience (Preferred)
- Experience with EPIC charting system (Required)
- Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging techniques, and radiation safety
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
- Flexibility to work variable shifts as needed
