Duties Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Report creation and modification: leverage Excel skills to create and modify financial reports- Hyperion administrative application maintenance: successful candidates will receive training in advanced Hyperion administrative application maintenance duties. This training will equip the candidate with the necessary skills to manage and support the Hyperion platform, an essential tool for our financial planning and reporting processes- Data analysis with Oracle Financials: a strong set of analytical skills is vital, as the candidate will be expected to utilize multiple data sets, including those from Oracle Financials, to conduct in-depth analyses- Forecast and variance meetings: the candidate will host quarterly forecast and variance meetings with department heads. These sessions are critical for reviewing financial performance against budget and forecasts, allowing the candidate to facilitate discussions that drive accountability and strategic alignment across departmentsPreferred Qualifications:- Working experience with Hyperion- Financial planning and analysis background- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel- Strong analytical skills

Minimum Qualifications For Appointment to Senior Budgeting Analyst (SG18):- Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title; OR- One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but aren't limited to: Senior Administrative Analyst, Administrative Specialist 1, Contract Management Specialist 1, Policyholder Services Representative 1; OR- A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in budget estimation, justification, and expenditure control functions.Please be advised that the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) does not offer sponsorship for employment visas to employees or potential employees. Additional Comments For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.
