Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to oversee all accounting and finance operations for a dynamic service-based company. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, tech-savvy, and experienced with QuickBooks and ServiceTitan. This role involves ensuring accuracy, accountability, and clarity in all financial reporting while assisting leadership in making informed, data-driven decisions. You will lead and develop a small accounting team, maintain clean books, and enhance visibility into financial performance and job costing. This position suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys both structure and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, billing, bank reconciliations, and the general ledger.

• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Integrate operational and accounting data from ServiceTitan to QuickBooks; reconcile job cost and margin reports.

• Develop internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures for efficiency and compliance.

• Provide leadership, mentoring, and task oversight for a team of four accounting staff.

• Produce clear, actionable monthly financial statements and dashboards.

• Monitor KPIs for cash flow, job profitability, and operational performance.

• Collaborate with management to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.

• Coordinate with tax preparers, auditors, and banks as needed.

• Continuously identify opportunities to streamline systems, reduce errors, and improve reporting clarity.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership.

• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and ServiceTitan (or similar service-industry platforms).

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High integrity, professionalism, and ownership.

• Experience with Power BI or dashboard creation is a plus.

• Prior experience in a service or construction-related business preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
