Bioinformatics intern

Role Overview:

Develop and optimize Nextflow pipelines for bioinformatics analysis; deploy pipelines on cloud infrastructure, Design pipelines to be modular and extensible, enabling seamless integration of secondary analysis modules.

Daily Activities includes Coding and debugging pipeline components; Reviewing code; Exploring new tools and optimizing workflow performance. The intern would work closely with Bioinformatics, DevOps teams, coordinate with other Bioinformatics Scientists for downstream analysis needs

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Analyze and interpret scientific data (including next generation sequencing data)

• Develop novel algorithms contribute to IDT product development

• Communicate results with the Bioinformatics and wet-bench scientific teams

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Knowledge of Python or related programming languages

• Pursing BS or MS in any of those areas: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science or related field (Required).

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• MS or Ph.D. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or related field (Preferred)

• Knowledge of deep learning neural networks, biological systems, and/ or biochemistry

The hourly range for this role is $25 - $30. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
