Risk Director-Enterprise Data
Enterprise Services Risk professionals are highly motivated with excellent project management and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and operating divisions and the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.
As a Risk Director in Capital One’s Enterprise Data team, you will create strategy and lead an effort focused on data management risks as part of the Discover integration. You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that ensure a successful integration between Capital One and Discover. You will work across key stakeholders to influence and build consensus on key risk and mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities:
This role will report into Enterprise Data and will be accountable to lead the data management compliance scope for the Discover Integration. This person in this role will develop a deep understanding of Discover’s data environment and help to identify key risks and mitigations identified during integration. Specifically, this role will:
Oversee data management risk mitigation activities for the Discover integration
Establish key data governance controls
Partner closely with other parts of Enterprise Data and with Enterprise Data Management to advance risk mitigation strategies
Lead control/mitigation initiatives that identify key risks and issues and facilitate remediation activities
Proactively identify process improvements that will improve risk management practices
Work closely with second-line policy owners to understand new and emerging requirements and develop plans to mitigate data risks
Influence leaders across the company on key operational risks and actions needed
Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders of varying seniority to drive the team to meet roadmap milestones
Drive continuous innovation through process improvements and automation
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 7 years of Audit, Risk Management or Data experience
At least 7 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients
At least 3 years of people leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of Risk Management, Data Governance, Data Management experience or combination
Relationship building skills, customer focus, and ability to collaborate across teams to deliver results
Financial Services experience with knowledge of applicable data regulations
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $200,100 - $228,400 for Director, Risk Management New York, NY: $218,300 - $249,100 for Director, Risk Management Richmond, VA: $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, Risk Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
