Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate LVN/LPN for a Medical Surgical Float assignment in Auburn, New York. This is a 13-week travel contract opportunity for candidates with acute care experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced Med Surg/Telemetry environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong medication administration skills, experience with dysrhythmia management, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team nursing model.

Assignment Details

• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Days – 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Option for 4x12 schedule available (no OT until after 52 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Floating: Required based on facility needs
• Patient Ratio: 1:8 Team Nursing with RN support

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely and accurately
• Monitor patient conditions and vital signs
• Assist with admissions and patient assessments
• Communicate patient status changes to RN/MD
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Provide care for adult and older adult patients
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and feeding tube care
• Support respiratory care including oxygen administration and nasal cannula management
• Assist patients with ambulation, bathing, and daily care needs

Required Qualifications

• Active NY State LPN/LVN License (or proof of application submitted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience
• Current BLS Certification
• 8 Hours of Stroke Education
• Recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
