Junior Associate, Consumer Insights - Fragrance & Skincare
JUNIOR ASSOCIATE, CONSUMER INSIGHTS – FRAGRANCE & SKINCARE

As the Global Consumer and Market insights Junior Associate for US brands, you will work with the CMI director to fuel the growth of Coty US based Fragrance & Skincare brands. It consists in supporting the CMI team to answer our internal clients business questions: find the best ways to tailor and conduct the most efficient methodological tools and solutions but also uncover unmet needs, new expectations and any social cultural change impacting our business.
You will be responsible to support every project from the logistic aspects to delivering timely insights on specific projects. In doing so, you will support broader strategic thinking on the fragrance category and its usage by current, lapsed and prospect users. You will use varied methodologies and explore multiple sources of insights to build strong synthesis for our brand and for the global CMI team based across Paris and New York.
You will achieve success in the role by activating a robust understanding of the consumers/ shoppers, of markets and competition to fuel growth and drive innovation, while carefully monitoring our brands’ image. Your curiosity will be as important as your rigor in organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will be responsible for:
Your main focus:
- Support our brands by providing Category market & Competitive Insights, Usage and shopper learnings, product innovation needs, and mix evaluation. You will identify the best research solutions (quantitative research, qualitative research, panels and / or business intelligence) and conduct your projects
- Help selecting vendors, brief partners, support and monitor fieldwork, guide and challenge analysis, review and improve research results presentation to deliver actionable results to internal clients
- Provide first elements of analysis and insight to drive recommendations against key business drivers. Build presentation for our internal clients, including our CEO in Paris
- Analyze consumer and market data using company information systems and excel analytics to support competitive market intelligence. Leverage relevant analytical tools from various sources including NPD Decision Key, Custom projects nd industry portals – to identify key opportunities for the business
- Start aggregating market-specific databases to create streamlined global business analyses. Create data visualizations and synthesis to present key research insights to cross-functional and management teams
- Create actionable slides and elaborate on business implications with the CMI team
- Maintain project schedules and ensure procurement compliance. Manage the agenda of the team
- Liaise with other CMI team members in Paris to optimize research outputs and create strategic bridges between projects
- Work on case studies to improve internal category expertise
- Monitor beauty trends with the trend and the analytics teams in Paris to shape actionable synthesis

QUALIFICATIONS
We’d love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- A passion for recent evolutions of consumers dynamics in general and in beauty in particular.
- Agility to adjust to a fast moving environment working with international teams
- Good written and oral communication skills to prepare and present tactical and strategic projects
- Ability to leverage / integrate existing data sets when information is not available
- Passion to bring the consumer to life, and place the consumer at the heart of our business decisions
- Strong problem-solving techniques; curious, team player; attention to detail / good project management. You know how to translate complex data into a key take outs with your analytical mindset.
- Strong communication (Verbal and written) and presentation ability. Work with the director at different levels in the organization and across different teams to ensure everyone is updated on key timelines and/or decisions
- Concise, integrated thinking and storytelling: boil down multiple data points into a simple but powerful story that drives decisions and outputs
- Project management: Organized, structured and always have an overview of all the deliverables. You know how to bring multiple projects to a successful ending within the given timeframe.
- Ability to drive clarity and Agility: you get energized by the opportunity to drive clarity for the team, you are quick to adapt as new information becomes available.

- Base Pay: $25-35 per hour, based on experience
