Deputy Commissioner Health Location Goshen, NY :

Resumes are being accepted for the position of Deputy Commissioner of Health. The Deputy provides support to the Commissioner of Health by handling the budgetary and fiscal affairs of the department, day-to-day administrative issues and maintaining administrative and operational control over the divisions. This class is responsible to the Commissioner for the overall management of department operations and the achievement of departmental policies designed in compliance with Federal, State, and County regulations. Responsibilities include overseeing the department's annual budget and State Aid, managing the department's physical property, and ensuring timely and accurate accounting. It also requires extensive contact with key individuals in public, private, or community agencies involving public health administration. The Deputy acts for and in place of the Commissioner in his/her absence. The Deputy is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Commissioner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of training and experience deemed acceptable to the Commissioner of Health.

Suggested Standards: Master's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Health Administration or related field; OR Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and three to six (3-6) years of financial or accounting experience.

The Salary range is $83,998.58-$171,000 with a hiring target salary range of $83,998- $133,347.49 depending on experience. Competitive benefits package includes comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance, long term disability insurance, and NYS Retirement.

Competitive examination is not a requirement for this position.
