Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg in Saratoga Springs, NY. Travel, temporary assignment starting 06/29/2026 for multiple weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,009–$2,069 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Setting: hospital with central telemetry monitoring on Med Surg units serving Adults and Geriatrics, including high-volume pulmonary, infectious disease, oncology, some surgical cases, and end-of-life care. - Setting: Hospital-based Med Surg with telemetry monitoring
- Orientation: 36 hours Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric med/surg patients, including those with pulmonary, infectious disease, oncology, post-surgical, and end-of-life needs
- Monitor patients via central telemetry and respond to telemetry findings in collaboration with the care team
- Administer medications, manage IVs and peripheral lines, and provide oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway support as needed
- Collaborate with PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Services, and other disciplines; participate in Rapid Response and code events
- Adhere to isolation/PPE protocols and ensure patient safety and infection prevention practices
- Document in the EPIC charting system and participate in ongoing patient assessment, notating changes in condition and care plans Requirements
- Active New York RN license required at submission
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Relias/EKG competency requirements apply
- Charting: EPIC experience is required
- EKG competency and Relias EKG exam: pass within 72 hours after signing; onsite EKG expectations apply
- Clinical skills: Med/Surg care, telemetry familiarity, rapid response/Code Team participation, peripheral line care/management, oxygen administration, and PPE/isolation practices
- Orientation: 36 hours prior to start
- Flu vaccine required for flu season; exemption process for medical or religious reasons must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to start
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required
- Ability to float within the unit’s scope of practice at manager’s discretion
- Compliance: NY state license verification at submission; Healthstream/Relias modules must be completed prior to start (RN average 12–15 hours)
- Residency restriction: Local candidates within a 50-mile radius of Saratoga Springs, NY are not accepted; excluded counties include Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, and Ulster Benefits and Support
- Orientation provided (36 hours) and unit onboarding
- EPIC charting system used; training and proficiency required
- Healthstream/Relias modules required prior to start (RN average 12–15 hours)
- Vaccination policy in effect for flu season; exemptions considered with appropriate documentation
- Ongoing assignment support and coordination through the designated recruiting team
