Position Overview
The client is seeking a detail oriented Paralegal - Legal Transactions to support commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and asset management matters. This role will work closely with attorneys and internal stakeholders to draft and manage transaction documents, track deliverables, maintain closing files, and assist with various legal and administrative needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and distribute commercial real estate closing documents for acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing transactions across North America and Europe under attorney supervision.
- Prepare deal checklists and monitor the status of transaction deliverables.
- Prepare signature page packets and coordinate execution and delivery.
- Assemble final executed documents for closings.
- Maintain a digital database of closing files by tracking, organizing, and filing new documents regularly.
- Manage the procurement of lien releases following the release of mortgage debt.
- Prepare and deliver corporate documents.
- Assist with drafting asset management documents, including default notices, landlord consents, lender consent requests, and related materials.
- Support word processing requests, including PDF conversions, document formatting, and redlines.
- Notarize documents and assist with apostille requests as needed.
- Handle administrative tasks, including mailing documents, tracking documentation, and reconciling invoices.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience drafting commercial real estate closing documents or other transactional documents.
- Experience preparing and delivering corporate documents, including formation documents, operating agreements, written consents, and related materials.
- Ability to read, understand, and organize corporate and transactional documents.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to track multiple deadlines and deliverables at once.
- New York Notary Public certification preferred, or willingness to obtain notary certification.
- Excellent attention to detail, process, and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
