Description:
- This position offers a contract opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in mental health care.
- Located in Brooklyn, NY, the role requires onsite presence and involves providing psychiatric care to individuals with mental health and substance use challenges.
- The schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexible hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification issued by the New York county Education Department (NYSED).
- Current and valid DEA registration.
- Prescriptive authority for all necessary psychiatric medications, including eligibility to prescribe Naloxone.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to serving vulnerable and underserved populations.
- Familiarity with supportive housing, homeless services, or psychiatric rehabilitation programs is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with adults with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.
- Strong clinical leadership and role modeling skills.
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience in consultation and support to case managers and counselors.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and person-centered care.
