Cookshop, a beloved neighborhood favorite dedicated to seasonal, locally sourced food, is looking for an ambitious, hardworking, and passionate busser to join our hospitality team.

Position Overview: Bussers are responsible for assisting guests with water stocking , bussing, and running
coffee throughout the shift. This role maintains cleanliness across the venue and positivity
in guest interactions. This role works to provide impeccable hospitality to each of our
guests, working specifically with each guests’ needs to curate the best experience possible. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Complete all opening, closing, and side work tasks thoroughly and promptly
● Attend all mandatory pre-shift meetings
● Uphold knowledge of all table and position numbers, and proper utensils for each
dish
● Maintain tables by removing courses as all guests are completed, replenishing
utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to guest needs.
● Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, and energetic service at all times
● Knowledge of how to make and serve all coffees
● Work with the rest of the service team to ensure that the dining room is fully set up
on time, offering help to teammates as necessary
● Stock and prepare service-related items
● Stock and maintain bathrooms for and during service
● Engage with every guest in a professional, friendly, and genuinely hospitable way.
● Address guest concerns by finding a way to say yes; Involve the Manager on Duty as
needed
● Maintain positive, approachable body language throughout service
● Support a positive team culture through professionalism and collaboration
● Demonstrate reliable attendance and participate in all scheduled trainings and
meetings
● Follow all New York State and City regulations, including sanitation, safety, and
alcohol service laws, to protect both guests and the restaurant
● Assist in training new team members and helping them learn service standards and
procedures
● Complete other duties as assigned by Management
Essential Functions and Physical Demands : This job requires meeting specific physical demands to perform essential duties effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform those essential functions.● Able to lift and carry up to 30+ lbs
● Polished personal presentation; grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by
Employee Handbook and wardrobe guidelines
● Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of
the business
● Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required
to perform essential job functions
● Ability to perform essential job functions when working under stress, in fast-paced
environment
Education, Certification and Experience● At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
● Understands DOH safety standards
● NYC Food Protection Certificate (Food Handler’s) preferred
● Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
