Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2020 - $2080
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (August 31, 2025 – November 30, 2025)
• Healthcare Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry Unit (20 beds)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:00), Thursday–Saturday block scheduling
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Floating: Required to float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Orientation: 5 hours (plus pre-start modules)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BLS certification required
• EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) charting experience required
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with rapid response teams, peripheral IV line care, non-invasive airway management, and infection control/isolation precautions
• Willingness to float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the Rochester, NY facility

RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as spinal stenosis, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), diabetic ulcers, lung carcinoma, and pleural effusions
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response activations
• Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airway devices
• Perform peripheral IV line care and management
• Implement infection control and isolation precautions, adhering to PPE protocols
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and more
• Float to other Med/Surg units as required to support hospital staffing needs
