Electrical Maintenance Instructor (Noncredit)
- Deliver in-person noncredit Electrical Maintenance courses, including foundational and intermediate topics.
- Teach core electrical maintenance competencies, including:
- Electrical theory fundamentals (voltage, current, resistance, Ohm's Law)
- AC/DC circuits
- Electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures
- National Electrical Code (NEC) basics
- Blueprint and schematic reading
- Motors and motor controls
- Relays, contactors, and starters
- Industrial control systems fundamentals
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Preventive and predictive maintenance procedures
- Multimeter and test equipment usage
- Provide hands-on instruction in lab settings using industry-standard tools, training panels, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and proper lab safety procedures at all times.
- Develop and update lesson plans, course outlines, and instructional materials aligned with workforce needs and local employer demand.
- Assess student performance through practical demonstrations, written assessments, and skills evaluations.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and course documentation records in accordance with Continuing Education policies.
- Support students in preparing for employment in electrical maintenance, facilities maintenance, and manufacturing settings.
- Collaborate with Continuing Education staff to strengthen employer partnerships and maintain program alignment with regional labor market needs.
- Coordinate with CEWI leadership to ensure alignment between noncredit offerings and potential credit-bearing pathways.
- Maintain classroom and lab equipment in coordination with program staff.
- Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, or equivalent industry credential.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in electrical maintenance, industrial electrical systems, facilities maintenance, or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and troubleshooting practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workforce development and adult learner success.
- Prior teaching or technical training experience (college, technical school, apprenticeship, or industry training).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience in industrial maintenance environments (manufacturing, production, commercial facilities).
- Associate degree or higher in Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- Experience working with workforce development or adult education programs.

Compensation Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. This is a part-time, non-benefited instructional position within Continuing Education & Workforce Innovation.
