AI Engineer
Our client, an innovative AI software company, is hiring an AI Engineer to join the team in New York. The successful candidate will work across customer delivery and platform engineering, developing AI agents that solve complex business challenges while enhancing the company’s core AI platform.
Responsibilities
Partner with private equity firms and their portfolio companies to understand operational challenges and design AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable business value.
Design, build, deploy and optimize AI agents using real-world enterprise and operational data.
Convert complex business processes into scalable AI solutions, including workflow automation, entity resolution and intelligent agent systems.
Rapidly develop proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and production-ready AI applications using modern AI technologies.
Serve as a trusted technical partner, leading customer workshops, solution demonstrations, and technical discovery sessions.
Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the company’s core AI platform alongside customer implementations.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to translate customer insights into new platform capabilities and product improvements.
Own projects throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design to deployment and ongoing support.
Build integrations between AI applications, enterprise systems, APIs and diverse data sources.
Continuously improve the scalability, performance, reliability and user experience of AI solutions and platform capabilities.
Skillset
Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience delivering production-ready applications.
Strong programming experience with Python and/or TypeScript.
Proven experience developing AI-powered solutions using large language models (LLMs).
Hands-on knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering and modern AI tooling.
Solid understanding of SQL, ETL processes, data integration, and working with complex enterprise datasets.
Experience building and maintaining full-stack applications across backend services, APIs and frontend technologies.
Ability to work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable software applications.
Previous experience in a startup, scale-up, or other fast-paced, high-growth environment is an advantage.
Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
