Job Title: Dental Assistant

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hours: 40 hours/week

Duration: 12-week contract with possible extension

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team in New York, NY. This role will support the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring efficient patient care and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience assisting with oral surgery procedures and be committed to providing exceptional care in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during patient examinations and treatments, including oral surgery procedures
• Prepare and seat patients, adjusting dental chairs and equipment as needed
• Set up and organize dental instruments, materials, and equipment before procedures
• Pass instruments to the dentist and provide chairside assistance during procedures
• Operate suction equipment to maintain a clear, dry working area in the patient’s mouth
• Provide post-procedure care and assist patients with mouthwash and other treatments
• Assist with tooth extractions and other surgical interventions
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and treatment areas
• Prepare and manage dental materials, including mixing amalgam and other filling substances
• Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes and appointment scheduling
• Assist with dental X-rays , including taking and processing images (if applicable)

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
• Prior experience assisting in oral surgery required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program required

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to perform moderate physical activity, including standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting
