Recreation Assistant
Job Title: Recreation Assistant (Full-Time)
Department: Recreation Department
Status: Full-Time
This position provides administrative, customer service, and operational support for the Department. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient day-to-day office operations, assisting with program coordination, maintaining records, and supporting community events. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to serving the community with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform general office duties including filing, data entry, and receptionist tasks.
- Assist with program registrations and maintain accurate participant records.
- Provide customer service via phone, email, and in-person communication.
- Support planning and execution of special events and community programs.
- Assist with facility reservations, scheduling, and related communications.
- Maintain program databases, attendance records, and payment documentation.
- Maintain department records, reports, and confidential files.
- Track training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Support coordination of department meetings, trainings, and public outreach events.
- Assist with data-entry related to incident reports and department activities.
- Bookkeeping, invoice processing and record keeping.
- Provide general clerical and organizational support as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous office or administrative experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office software.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a busy office environment.

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment with regular interaction with the public, community members, and department personnel. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for events or departmental support.
