Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – After-School Sports Support

Location: Nassau County School District
Position Type: Part-Time, After School
Pay: $30–$35 per hour
Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide after-school support for a student participating in a school track team within a Nassau County School District. The RBT will assist the student in following directions, maintaining engagement in team activities, and ensuring safety during practice.

Schedule:

• Dates: March 30 – June 5
• Time: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
• Days: Monday – Friday
• Note: The student may not attend every day. The schedule will be coordinated with the parent in advance.

Student Profile:

• Student has minimal verbal communication
• Uses an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device
• Requires close supervision, prompting, and direction to follow instructions and participate in activities
• Support will occur during track practice

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 behavioral and participation support during track practice
• Assist the student with following directions from coaches and staff
• Use prompting and redirection strategies to maintain engagement and safety
• Support communication using the student’s AAC device when needed
• Maintain professional communication with the supervising team and family as appropriate

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
• Experience working with students with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
• Experience supporting students with AAC devices is a plus
• Ability to provide close supervision in an active outdoor setting
• Reliable, patient, and able to follow behavioral support strategies

A team member previously supported this student during track last year and will be available to provide additional details and guidance once the position is filled.
