Punch Press Operator
Location : Blauvelt, NYShift : 2nd 4:00 pm - 12:30 am, Monday through Friday (Must be willing to train on 1st)
Pay: $16.50 – $19.50 based on experience +$0.75 shift differential Job Responsibilities
- Operates punch press equipment to manufacture plastic discs or gaskets.
- Following standard methods and techniques, processes materials to ensure it meets SQF Food Safety and Quality Codes, product specifications and any special instructional customer specific requirements.
- Properly and safely set up and/or break down production equipment
- Monitors press operation, adjusts settings, and troubleshooting issues.
- Packages finish product
- Inspects product for conformance to specifications, visually or using gauges or templates, and adjusts machine to correct errors.
- Performs dimensional measurements using a micrometer, caliper, scale as required.
- Removes and/or sorts recycled and non-recycled materials to trash or transfer bins.
- Actively participates in the continuous improvement process (CIP)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of previous experience operating punch presses or similar manufacturing machinery.
- Must be available to be trained on 1st shift (8:00 am - 4:30 pm) for the first 2 months of employment or until is fully trained.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, and use measuring tools (micrometer, caliper, etc.)
- Must be mechanically inclined: hands-on skills with basic tools, visualizing how component fit together, ability to disassemble, reassemble simple mechanisms.
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability on using industrial barcode scanners.
- Physical ability to lift/move materials (up to 50 lbs.), standing for long periods and perform repetitive motions.
