Part Time NYC Housekeeper

Private Upper East Side family seeks an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly trustworthy Part-Time Housekeeper to support the day-to-day upkeep and organization of their New York City residence. This is an excellent opportunity for a polished professional who takes pride in maintaining a beautifully kept home while providing thoughtful household support.

The ideal candidate is discreet, proactive, and highly organized, with a strong understanding of private household standards. This individual will possess exceptional housekeeping and laundry skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and a genuine commitment to maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-functioning home. A naturally reserved and professional demeanor is preferred, along with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

The schedule will consist of approximately 20 hours per week, ideally across three weekdays, with a preference for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The family is flexible regarding exact scheduling and is willing to offer additional hours for the right candidate. The principals travel frequently, making this an ideal role for someone who is comfortable working independently and helping to ensure the home remains well maintained during their absence.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform all aspects of general housekeeping and detailed cleaning to maintain the residence in pristine condition
• Care for fine furnishings, antiques, decorative objects, and delicate household items with the utmost attention and care
• Manage household laundry, including washing, folding, ironing, steaming, and wardrobe care
• Change bed linens and maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas to the highest standards
• Organize closets, storage areas, cabinets, and household systems
• Open and organize packages and deliveries
• Run household errands, including grocery shopping, returns, and supply procurement
• Assist with light meal preparation as requested
• Monitor household inventory and ensure essential supplies remain stocked
• Serve as a reliable point person for minor household matters, including coordinating service appointments and communicating with vendors when needed
• Liaise with household service providers, such as plumbers, electricians, and repair professionals, as directed
• Assist with household organization projects and seasonal upkeep
• Help ensure the residence remains guest-ready and impeccably maintained at all times
• Additional housekeeping and household support duties as needed and requested

Requirements:

• Excellent references from both current and former employers
• Minimum 5+ years of related experience working in a private household
• Strong housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care skills
• Experience caring for fine furnishings, antiques, and delicate household items
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
• Comfortable assisting with errands, household logistics, and light household management responsibilities
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
• Naturally discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of privacy
• Comfortable working in a home with exacting cleanliness standards
• Ability to identify and address household needs proactively
• Legally authorized to work within the United States

Compensation: $50 per hour, with flexibility for additional hours as needed
