As an intern at GF, you'll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.Summary of Role:GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Chemical & Slurry, Ultrapure Water (UPW), and Wastewater Treatment operations team. This internship offers hands-on experience in high-purity chemical and water systems within a cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for actively contributing to assigned projects and delivering defined outcomes within the internship period.Essential Responsibilities include:Actively participate in all Facilities safety programs and ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and regulations.Collaborate closely with assigned mentors to seek guidance and clarification, ensuring alignment with project objectives and successful delivery of outcomes.Support operational needs by contributing to urgent tasks and assisting the team as required.Engage with project stakeholders to communicate project goals, raise awareness, and highlight the benefits of the study outcomes.Assist senior technicians in troubleshooting and rebuilding wastewater pumps.Work alongside shift operations teams to understand departmental priorities and key performance indicators (KPIs), and connect these insights to assigned projects.Help maintain chemical rooms, UPW, and wastewater treatment systems in accordance with Fab 8's 6S program standards.Participate in the response, investigation, and risk assessment of system performance issues, contributing to resolution efforts that support fab operations and quality standards.Other Responsibilities:Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.Required Qualifications:Education - At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor's in chemical engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.Preferred Qualifications: Prior related internship or co-op experienceDemonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong planning & organizational skills#InternshipProgramUSExpected Salary Range$20.00 - $40.00Expected Salary Range$0.00 - $0.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.If you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the employment process, please contact us by email at [email protected] and let us know the nature of your request and your contact information.
