Job Summary
The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in an Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) practice. The role involves assisting physicians during patient examinations, preparing patients for procedures, recording vital signs, maintaining medical records, and ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist physicians and healthcare providers during OB/GYN examinations and procedures .
Prepare patients for clinical visits by recording vital signs, medical history, and symptoms .
Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary medical instruments and supplies are available.
Assist with specimen collection, patient preparation, and routine clinical procedures.
Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
Ensure exam rooms and clinical areas are clean, organized, and properly stocked .
Follow infection control procedures and clinic safety protocols.
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff to support quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or relevant clinical experience.
Experience working in a clinical or outpatient healthcare setting .
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures .
