Title/Role: Senior Accountant
Division: Finance & Accounting
Location: Bethpage, NY / Long Island City, NY

Reporting to: Accounting Supervisor

Position Summary:
Our General Ledger team is seeking a Senior Accountant to support our accounting needs during rapid growth. This person will be responsible for owning key accounting activities and processes across the business and will play an integral and visible role in keeping our business on track. As The E-J Group scales, there will be significant opportunities for this individual to assume more responsibility and advance their career within a high-growth environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, allocations, taxes, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare variance analyses for specific accounts to assist the FP&A and leadership teams in identifying key insights in regular monthly financial reporting.
• Assist with annual external audits and tax filings by preparing schedules and providing requested information as needed.
• Collaborate and partner with teams across the company to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Drive ongoing process improvements and efficiency gains for areas of responsibility.
• Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements for joint venture entities in accordance with GAAP.
• Lead or assist on ad-hoc projects as needed (e.g. tax compliance, system implementations).

As Senior, You Should Have:

• 2+ years of audit experience (construction experience preferred).
• Solid communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business.
• CPA Required.
• Advanced Excel capabilities/knowledge.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality and consistent work products.
• Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to work well cross-functionally on finance-related projects.

Annual Salary Range: $100k-110k
