Service / Appliance preventive technician

What You Will Do
Perform in-home appliance maintenance visits (2 visits per year per customer)
Replace refrigerator water filters and basic consumables
Clean dryer vents and perform airflow checks
Inspect dishwashers, washers, and appliance connections
Replace smoke detector batteries and perform basic safety checks
Replace light bulbs and identify simple home maintenance issues
Document service using checklists and photos
Communicate findings clearly to homeowners or family members

Home Appliance Care & Safety Technician (Part-Time) Location: Freeport / South Shore Long Island Area
Pay: $18–$20/hour starting + performance incentives
Position: Part-Time (with opportunity for full-time advancement)

About the Role

Malkin Appliances is launching a new in-home Appliance Care & Home Safety Service designed to help customers maintain their appliances, prevent breakdowns, and improve home safety.

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented technician who enjoys working in customers’ homes and takes pride in doing thorough, professional work.

This is not just a repair job—it is a preventive maintenance and home care role focused on quality, consistency, and customer trust.

What We’re Looking For

Strong attention to detail
Comfortable working in customers’ homes
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Ability to follow structured checklists
Good communication skills
Basic mechanical or maintenance experience preferred (appliance, HVAC, handyman, construction, etc.)

Compensation & Incentives
Starting pay: $18–$20/hour

Add-on services sold (AC installs, additional work)

This is a growing service division inside a 100+ year local business.

As the program expands, this role can grow into:

Full-time technician position
Lead technician role
Service route manager
Training / supervisory position
