Staff Accountant
Our client is an investment firm seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
You'll work closely with the Controller and senior accountants to ensure accurate financial records and support month-end and year-end close processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements
- Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
- Support external audit preparation and provide documentation
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or public accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- CPA candidate or CPA certification is a plus
