Parts & Service Manager — Canton, NY
Canton, New York agricultural and light industrial equipment business headquartered in Vermont seeking full-time Parts & Service Manager responsible for all aspects of running the Parts & Service departments. Duties include, but are not limited to, customer parts sales in person and over the phone, parts order processing, in-store merchandising, cycle counting, coordinating customer, warranty, and internal work, managing Service Technicians, and ensuring the departments operate smoothly and profitably.
Dealership hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and 8:00 am to noon on most Saturdays.CVE provides competitive compensation based on experience, performance-based bonuses and profit-sharing, wellness programs, 401(k), clothing allowance, employee discounts, life insurance, health insurance, and other benefits.
Tasks
· Formulate, implement, and monitor an operating plan for the departments
· Read catalogs, microfiche viewers, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
· Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
· Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
· Prepare sales slips or sales contracts and receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
· Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
· Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
· Discuss use and features of various parts, based on knowledge of machines or equipment.
· Drive Service department sales via superior customer satisfaction, quality work, and various promotional tools.· Formally evaluate each departmental employee annually to ensure individual objective attainment.
· Coach and train employees to enable them to improve and grow in their roles.
· Communicate effectively with customers regarding Service work to be performed and collection of payment.
· Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on personnel's work priority and skill.
Must-haves
Candidate must have excellent communication skills, strong customer service skills, be able to think independently, and have fundamental computer skills. The ideal candidate is reliable and highly motivated. We are willing to train the right person.
