POSITION - Union: Utility Worker II – Transitional - TEMP

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1

LOCATION: RG&E - NY – Canandaigua, NY

HOURLY RATE: $22.91

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively perform gas and electric tasks including but not limited to turn-on, turn-off, obtaining meter reads, and meter exchanges.

• Safely and effectively work field collections including in-person customer collections, notice delivery, disconnect for non-payment, and reconnect after disconnection.

• Report hazardous conditions, meter tampering, and meter conditions.

• Timely completion of assignments.

• Assist in ensuring data integrity and customer satisfaction.

• Adhere to safety policies and practices.

• Maintain current meter location records and maps.

• Proper care and maintenance of all assigned company equipment.

• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must have high school diploma or GED.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Must be willing to work in various weather conditions including heat/cold, rain and snow.

• Must be willing to work extra hours as required, including storm work.

• Must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Must successfully complete background check, drug screen, and audiogram.

• Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.

• Must be self-motivated.

• Must be a team player.

• Must be able to complete physically demanding tasks on a regular basis
