Job Title: Registered Dietitian Food & Nutrition Services

Location: Bronx, NY

Pay: $51.00 - $53.10 per hour

Shift: Day Shift (9:00 AM 5:00 PM EST)

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Registered Dietitian to join our Food and Nutrition Services team in Bronx, NY. The ideal candidate will assess, plan, and provide nutritional care and education to patients in both acute and post-acute settings. This role requires strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to ensure optimal nutritional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Screen and assess patients to determine nutritional needs and level of care.
• Conduct interviews with patients and families to gather food habits and preferences.
• Monitor and educate patients on food/drug interactions; document findings accurately.
• Interpret lab results, medical data, and social factors relevant to nutrition care.
• Modify patient menus and consult with physicians on diet modifications.
• Provide nutrition education tailored to individual patient needs and comprehension.
• Maintain accurate documentation of diet instructions and patient understanding.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2+ years preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition.
• For Acute Care: Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Required .
• For Post-Acute/Long-Term Care: Must hold New York State Certification as a "Dietitian-Nutritionist" issued by NYSED Required .
• AHA BLS Certification Preferred .
• Master's Degree Preferred .
• Knowledge of food/drug interactions and the ability to modify therapeutic diets.
• Strong interpersonal, documentation, and patient education skills.

Note for Post-Acute Care Candidates:

As per federal CMS regulations (Section 483.60, Title 42 of the CFR), all dietitians assigned to long-term care must hold a New York State Dietitian-Nutritionist Certification at the time of hire.
