Job Overview:
The Accounting Manager is a key member of the financial team. A proactive problem solver with strong business acumen, he/she will work collaboratively with other members of the senior management team, all levels of staff, and outside vendors to provide superior client service as the functional lead. Having access to confidential information, discretion, and independent judgment is required.
This role will report to the Controller.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of our NetSuite Accounting platform, proactively handling all aspects of the company's finances, including bookkeeping, account reconciliations, banking, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
- Manage Month-End Close. Finalize and close out all monthly financial activity and financial statements, review amortization and depreciation schedules, and reconcile bank statements and cash receipts. Assure us that accounting processes are timely and efficient.
- Produced ad hoc financial, weekly, monthly, and annual reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss, and cash-flow statements.
- Active participation in other accounting, financial, planning, management, or other matters impacting the organization.
- Approve Invoices and Manage Vendor Contracts. Managing significant dollar approval threshold to act as a control for purchases.
- Engage in various management accounting projects across multiple practice locations.
- Assisting with annual tax and governmental reporting packages and documents.
- Assist with new system implementations and integrations to support company growth.
- Assist with M&A.
- Ensure Financial Compliance. Understand reporting requirements, ensure proper resources are on hand to meet those requirements and oversee the final product delivered to external parties.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in finance, accounting, or a related degree.
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant), is desired but not required.
- 5+ years' experience as an Accountant or other significant financial positions.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Detail-oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, demonstrating a sense of urgency and effectively juggling demands and shifting priorities. Startup environment experience is helpful.
- Microsoft Excel expert with capabilities to analyze large tables with extensive use of formulas rather than Pivot Tables.
- 2 to 5 years or more experience in the Healthcare industry is desired but not required. An entrepreneurial attitude that can work independently to meet strict deadlines.
