Accountant
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day accounting operations of the company. This role ensures accurate financial records, assists with month‑end close, and helps maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances
- Assist with the month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assist with financial reporting and internal management reports
- Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and documentation of procedures
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience (private)
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
- Experience with accounting systems or ERPs (e.g., NetSuite preferably) is a plus
- CPA (or CPA track) preferred but not required
