Role: Accounting Manager – General Ledger
Pay: $150,000 per year
Location: Long Island City, NY (Hybrid)
Job Description:
My client is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager – General Ledger to lead and oversee the general ledger function in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This role will manage the month-end close process, ensure GAAP compliance, and supervise the GL team while partnering cross-functionally to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Oversee general ledger operations, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting schedules.
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Manage and mentor the General Ledger team, providing leadership and professional development.
Partner with external auditors during annual audits and assist with audit preparation.
Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures.
Leverage NetSuite to optimize reporting, workflows, and system efficiencies.
Support process improvements and automation initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Big 6 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Hands-on experience with NetSuite required.
Proven leadership experience managing accounting or GL teams.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
