Elementary Teacher (STEM)

Talent Vision
Rochester, NY

About the Role

Talent Vision is partnering with a public charter school to recruit an Elementary Teacher (STEM) for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for a student-centered educator with a passion for STEM - science, technology, engineering, and mathematics - who is committed to delivering rigorous, culturally responsive instruction and supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of elementary students in grades K–5.

The Elementary Teacher (STEM) will plan and deliver standards-aligned, inquiry-based STEM learning experiences, collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-disciplinary instruction, and partner with families and school leaders to advance student outcomes. This role includes curriculum design, data-informed differentiation, participation in school-wide initiatives, and contribution to a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

Starting Salary: $50,000 - $68,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned STEM instruction for elementary students (K–5) that promotes curiosity, problem-solving, and academic growth.

  • Plan hands-on, inquiry-based lessons and projects that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while connecting to literacy and other content areas.

  • Use formative and summative assessment data to differentiate instruction, provide targeted interventions, and monitor student progress.

  • Create and maintain a classroom environment that is inclusive, restorative, and centered on high expectations and equitable access to STEM learning for all students.

  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and school leaders to analyze student data, refine instructional practices, and implement curriculum maps and school initiatives.

  • Integrate age-appropriate technology and engineering design practices, ensuring safe and effective use of tools and materials.

  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress, classroom expectations, and opportunities to support STEM learning at home.

  • Participate in professional learning, including summer orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training throughout the school year.

  • Support social-emotional learning and positive behavior systems in partnership with school support staff.

  • Contribute to school-wide events, committees, and collaborative problem-solving to continuously improve student experience and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in Education, STEM field, or related area preferred.

  • Valid state teaching certification for elementary grades (K–5) or commitment to obtain certification prior to start date.

  • Minimum of two years of elementary classroom teaching experience preferred; early-career candidates with strong STEM background and demonstrated instructional skill are encouraged to apply.

  • Demonstrated expertise in standards-based instruction, assessment, and data-informed decision-making.

  • Experience designing and implementing hands-on, inquiry-based STEM lessons and project-based learning.

  • Strong classroom management skills and experience supporting social-emotional learning and restorative practices.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Commitment to culturally responsive teaching, equity, and serving diverse student populations, particularly in underserved communities.

  • Familiarity with instructional technologies, digital tools, and learning management systems; experience with coding, robotics, or maker education is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and qualifications.

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and retirement options where offered.

  • Opportunities for professional development, coaching, and career growth within the Talent Vision network and partner schools.
