Respiratory Therapist I (NYC) - Nights
- Render respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.
- Consult with and aid other health care practitioners in management or prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders, with minimal direction.
- Assess patient's condition and follow up to ensure appropriateness of therapy.
- Educate patients and their families regarding respiratory treatment/therapy.
- Assist in providing education to other departments regarding respiratory therapies and modalities.
- An Associate's Degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy.
- A current NY State Respiratory Therapist License.
- Current NBRC Credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- BLS required, ACLS preferred.
- Pediatric/PICU experience preferred.
- Highly motivated and able to empower and work well with others; able to adapt in a constantly evolving environment.
- Able to problem solve operational, personnel, and patient issues.
- Someone who has excellent communication skills, follow through and who supports the open expression of diverse ideas and opinions.
- Team focused and collaborative with other departments in the coordination of patient care.
- Location: Main Hospital, 1275 York Avenue, in NYC.
- Schedule: Night Shift (7:00pm-7:30am), nights vary, includes weekends and rotating holidays.
