Quality Systems Engineer
The Quality Systems Engineer position is a full-time opportunity in Tesla's Manufacturing team, based at the Energy Manufacturing Site in Buffalo, New York. It's a hands-on role focused on building and enhancing quality management systems in a fast-paced, innovative environment like Tesla's Gigafactory New York (GFNY). The emphasis is on fostering a culture of continuous improvement, problem-solving, and compliance while prioritizing safety, quality, and people. What You'll Do Act as the on-site expert in quality problem-solving. Define metrics, governance processes, and remove barriers to promote continuous improvement across the organizationBecome the go-to person for tools like Kaizen, lean manufacturing, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes. Lead efforts to raise standards beyond basic requirements using first-principles thinkingCreate CAPA processes, monitoring metrics, and feedback mechanisms to identify and prevent issues proactivelyWork with teams to prepare for external audits (e.g., ISO 9001 compliance) and customer visits. Support tools like Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and process control plansIntroduce new quality tools and technologies to advance product quality and internal management systems at GFNY What You'll Bring Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field, or equivalent experience5+ years in quality engineering, including experience in establishing or auditing systems in global manufacturing or remanufacturing settingsProven ability to manage teams and perform effective audits. Strong knowledge of quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and methodologies (e.g., PFMEA, root cause analysis, CAPA)Deep understanding of data analytics in manufacturing, with the skill to turn data into compelling stories for stakeholdersServant leadership style—empowering others through guidance and clear communication. High integrity, sound judgment, and resilience in dynamic, high-pressure environmentsASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification preferred Benefits

Quality Engineer - $93,600 - $140,400/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
