MAINTENANCE MECHANIC CREW CHIEF

Non-Competitive Civil Service

TWELVE MONTHS A YEAR

EIGHT (8) HOURS PER DAY

Normal Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (M-F)

Must be available for emergency call-ins

HOURLY RATE: $30.00

STARTING DATE: April 22, 2026

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five years of experience in the building or services trades, one year of which was in a supervisory capacity OR

• Nine years of experience in the building or service trades, one year of which was in a supervisory capacity OR

• An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (1) and (2)

Special Qualifications:

• Must possess EPA 608 Universal Certification at time of hire

• HVAC Technician Course

• Certified as a pool operator.

• Must possess a valid Class 5 New York State driver's license at the time of hire

Duties:

• Efficient operation and maintenance of school facilities and equipment- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repair

• Adhere to preventative maintenance schedules

• Prioritize health and safety of all students and staff

• Direct supervision over a staff of skilled and unskilled employees

• Evaluates work performance of subordinate employees
