AVP of Human Resources

Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Human Resources role is to oversee the operations of the Human Resources Department, and to administer Human Resource programs and policies related to employee and labor relations, benefits, human resources specific policies and communications, compensation, staffing metrics, compliance, recruitment, and training and development.
The AVP of Human Resources attends all Labor/Management Committee Meetings representing management and follows up regarding issues and concerns. The AVP of Human Resources conducts investigations as necessary and prepares documentation in response to both grievances, arbitrations, and internal investigations. The AVP of Human Resources collaborates with the CFO during labor contract negotiations.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
5 years of progressive experience in Human Resource management required.
Experience in labor relations preferred.
Bachelor's degree required.
Professional in Human Resources certification preferred (PHR or SPHR) or SHRM certification as Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional.
Experience with benefit administration, compensation analysis, employee relations, talent acquisition, and training development required.
Requires excellent communication skills, verbal and written; problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to manage conflict.
Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects.
Must have initiative and follow through to execute plans, programs, and proposals.
Salary Range:
$125,000 - $150,000 per year
