Venue Manager/Event Manager

We are a leading event venue in the heart of Manhattan, hosting a wide variety of events, from corporate functions to weddings and private parties. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Venue Manager/Event Manager to oversee event operations, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for clients and guests. This role is crucial in managing the day-to-day operations of the venue during events.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the smooth execution of all events at the venue, ensuring client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and event staff during events.
- Coordinate with caterers, AV teams, security, and other vendors to ensure timely setup, event execution, and breakdown.
- Manage staff, including setup teams, janitorial crews, and event support, to ensure everyone is clear on their roles and responsibilities.
- Monitor and manage event timelines to ensure events run on schedule.
- Address any issues or emergencies that arise during events promptly and professionally.
- Ensure the venue is clean, well-maintained, and properly prepared before each event.
- Conduct pre-event walkthroughs with clients and post-event checks to ensure all client and venue needs are met.
- Maintain inventory of event supplies, including furniture, AV equipment, and other necessities.
- Manage the closing and opening procedures of the venue, ensuring all security measures are in place.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the overall event experience and venue operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Event Management Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing events or venues, preferably in a high-end event setting.
- Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and liaise with clients and vendors.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Quick thinking and able to resolve issues on the spot while maintaining professionalism.
- Excellent Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure that events run smoothly and on schedule.
- Client-Focused: Dedicated to ensuring an exceptional experience for event hosts and their guests.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure that all aspects of the event, from setup to breakdown, meet the venue's high standards.
- Flexible Availability: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the event schedule.
- Knowledge of Event Operations: Familiarity with event logistics, including vendor coordination, staff management, and troubleshooting event technology (AV, lighting, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Event Management Software is a plus.
