Anesthesiologist – Community Hospital | New York City, NY | $680K-$800K+ Annual Compensation

A premier community-based hospital in New York City is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist to join their collaborative anesthesia team. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care for surgical procedures
  • Provide clinical supervision and collaboration with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
  • Perform pre-operative patient assessments and anesthesia evaluations
  • Manage intraoperative anesthesia care for orthopedic surgery and general surgery cases
  • Conduct post-operative patient monitoring and pain management protocols
  • Execute regional anesthesia techniques including nerve blocks and lumbar punctures
  • Participate in shared call rotation with post-call day off
  • Maintain accurate documentation within Meditech EHR system
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, nursing staff, and hospital administration
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and quality metrics

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency program
  • Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
  • Active or eligible for New York State medical license
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Active or eligible DEA license
  • Proficiency in airway management, endotracheal intubation, and ventilation techniques
  • Strong clinical skills in regional anesthesia including nerve blocks and neuraxial procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Detail-oriented approach with strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Compassionate patient care philosophy
  • Experience with Meditech EHR system preferred
