Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time WIC Nutrition adjunct to join our team in Monticello.
Under the direction of the WIC site manager, this paraprofessional assists in the delivery of the nutritional care and/or education to clients participating in the WIC program in all sites, excluding high-risk clients.. Training by the local agency must be completed prior to executeance of tasks. Performs job tasks in compliance with systems and job specific standards.
Essential tasks and Responsibilities for a WIC Nutrition adjunct:

»Works in various WIC sites.

»Accurately obtains the height and weight measurements and hemoglobin values for all WIC eligible participants and follows the required procedures.

»Provides basic health and nutrition to individuals and groups. Participates in Facilitated Discussion Groups.

»Develops plans for Healthy Lifestyle Events and coordinates staff participation.

»Participates in community outreach efforts as assigned by the Outreach Coordinator.

»Verifies and documents calibration of anthropometric equipment and hematology log.

» supervises everyday clinic flow, providing assistance with appointment scheduling, explanations or program to participants and VOC's. Coordinates such activities with other staff to facilitate efficient service to participants.

»Schedules, provides reminder calls and no show calls to offsite participants.

»Follows WIC check issuance procedures when CPA is not available on site.
Minimum Education Requirement: high school diploma
Minimum Work Related practice: 2-4 years
Preferred Specialized expertise & expertise: Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written)
Hourly Rate: $17.25 - $20.00 /hour
