Preschool Teacher Assistant
Lewis County Head Start is seeking a passionate, dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for preschoolers, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This position is ideal for an individual who has experience with children and is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young learners.
Preschool Teacher Assistant This is a 10-month, full-time (Monday - Friday, 8a 4:00p) located in our BOCES Head Start classroom, that follows the school calendar.

Work with a team to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's growth. Assess and monitor child's progress through observations and evaluations. Work with a team to provide individualized support to children with special needs or varying learning abilities. Collaborate with other staff to share best practices and resources. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education trends.Requirements
At a minimum a High School Diploma or GED and the desire to enroll in continuing education coursework. Tuition reimbursement available upon request. Experience working with young children is highly desirable. Ability to create an inclusive environment with parents to meet the individual needs of their child. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff. Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching young learners. Commitment to fostering a love for learning in early childhood education.
