Traction Power Engineer
Your impact
As a vital member of our rail systems traction power group, you’ll have the opportunity to design and develop traction power systems on exciting projects for major rail-transit agencies so we can shape lasting solutions for the future. We’ll ask you to draw from your engineering expertise technical design for project aspects such as traction power substation and distribution design associated with conceptual engineering as well as detailed engineering designs, and preparation of transit/rail contract documents for construction. In addition, you’ll be asked to support national projects.
Working alongside a team of technical experts and engineers, you’ll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. Here's what you'll need
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional expertise in traction power design
• Ability to obtain an EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) License
Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Bentley- OpenBuildings
• Standard Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience in electrified railway (3rd rail and Overhead Contact System) substation and power distribution systems design to include:
• AC or DC rail transit traction power substations.
• Wayside cable plant, Circuit breakers, Switchgear, Transformers, Rectifiers.
• SCADA and PLC control systems.
• Wayside Energy Storage Systems.
High level of organization and communication skills to work with rail systems discipline interfaces.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $140,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
