Currently we are looking for Baristas to work at our Beverage Bar in the New York City location.

About the Position

We are searching for Happier Bar Team Members. You would be responsible for helping the operations run successfully. This role has a strong hospitality element, ensuring that the store delivers high-quality products and great customer service. Engaging with customers and trying to guide them through the menu and experience is of the utmost importance.

The Happier Bar, which offers coffee and smoothies and other wellness drinks, is an essential element to the Happier Grocery. The people we bring into this program will a have hands-on experience with coffee, functional herbal offerings, and will engage in conversation with customers. Additionally, we will offer continued beverage education through our passionate team of experienced professionals.

What you will do

• Make delicious, consistent coffee and espress-based drinks
• Blend smoothies and talk guests through add-ons
• Welcome and inform customers about specials or latest items, answer questions, educate about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and herbs
• Work quickly and efficiently to take orders and payments on the POS
• Engage with and talk to guests in a friendly manner
• Prepare tonics from recipes and properly present them customers
• Keep a completely clean back bar and work area
• Take daily inventory and stock the bar with beverage and operational supplies
• Work as part of a fun, high energy team
• Stand during your shift
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

What you will bring

· Experience as a Barista or in the service industry

· Interest in learning about wellness, functional roots, leaves, mushrooms, teas, and herbal supplements in general

· A friendly, positive attitude and a smile

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Preferred 1-2 year’s experience as a Barista and Juice or Smoothie Bar Lead required.
• Food Handlers Certificate
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of POS systems.
• Relevant certifications and/or experience in mixology
