About Our Client
Our client is a top international law firm with nearly 50 offices worldwide, known for it's longstanding elite status in the US and global markets. The client is a seeking an experienced Managing Clerk in either their New York or Los Angeles office to lead a strong team.
Job Description
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the legal department's administrative tasks.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state court procedures and filing requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to the legal staff on procedural matters and best practices.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of court documents to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and update the department's legal calendars and schedules.
- Develop and implement efficient processes to improve workflow and productivity.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other departments to support legal operations and case management.
- Stay informed on changes in legal procedures and communicate updates to the team.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Managing Clerk should have:
- A strong understanding of legal procedures and court requirements at state and federal levels.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Prior supervisory experience is required.
- High proficiency in managing legal calendaring systems (ie. Court Alert, CompuLaw).
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with attorneys and staff.
- Ability to stay updated on changes in legal regulations and procedures.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
