Pay Rate: $50-$100/hour, depending on experience
Position Overview
Seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Migration & Integration Consultant to support a critical systems integration initiative involving the consolidation of data between two midsize organizations. This role will focus on data migration, data mapping, system integration, and ensuring data consistency across multiple platforms during the transition process.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on data professional with strong SQL expertise who can quickly assess existing data environments, analyze raw data, identify data discrepancies, and develop solutions to keep systems aligned and synchronized. This individual must be able to hit the ground running and operate independently in a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze, validate, and reconcile data between multiple business systems.
• Design and execute data migration and integration strategies.
• Perform data mapping, transformation, and conversion activities.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across integrated systems.
• Work with stakeholders to understand source and target data structures.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues during migration efforts.
• Support system integration activities and synchronization processes.
• Document data mappings, transformation rules, and migration procedures.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Required Qualifications
• 5-10+ years of experience in data migration, data integration, database management, or related disciplines.
• Strong hands-on experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries.
• Experience performing complex data mapping and reconciliation activities.
• Demonstrated success supporting system integration or data migration projects.
• Experience working with Microsoft database technologies and environments.
• Experience with IBM Informix databases.
• Strong understanding of data structures, data quality, and data governance principles.
• Ability to analyze large volumes of raw data and identify anomalies or inconsistencies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal ramp-up time.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale system consolidation projects.
• Background in ETL processes and data transformation.
• Experience integrating legacy and modern business applications.
• Consulting or contract project experience.
Additional Information
• Fully remote position.
• No regular travel required.
• Candidates should indicate whether they are available for occasional travel if project needs change.
• Immediate start preferred.
• Initial contract expected to be approximately 90 days, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
